The objective of the program was to encourage our students to conduct programs to the students of high school level and to share their knowledge with others. Management Activities are conducted and created awareness among the students on Leadership, Group discussion, Career opportunities and delivered an activity based talk on “Investment in yourself”.

Day 1
 “Campus to Corporate”  A three days Placement Training Program was organised in our college by Department of Commerce and Management in Association with Career Guidance Cell,  from 10th October 2019  to 12th October 2019. The program was inaugurated by Prof. Sandhya, Assistant Professor, DOC, MAHE on 10th October 2019. Dr. Raghavendra A, Principal, Prof. Shivakumar, HOD, Department of Commerce and Management, Convener of the Program Mrs. Jayalaxmi, Dept of Commerce and Management, , Dr. Anand Acharya, Dept of Sanskrit and convener of Career Guidance Cell were present.
After the inauguration Prof Sandhya delivered a Lecture on “About Myself- Identifying the Strength and Weakness”. She suggested the students for self analysis. She also guided the students on Resume Building and Correspondence through Email.  In Afternoon Session Mr. Yasin Manna of Final Bcom gave a PPT presentation on “Investment in Individuals”. Principal Dr. Raghavendra A took one session and enlightened the students with Logical Questions and Answers.
Day 2.
On 11-10-2019  Prof . Sandhya  took the sessions on “Oral Communication’, Listening Skills and Body Language. She has conducted Group Discussion on the topic “ Is Dress Code Compulsory in the Corporate world?” and all the students  actively participated in that. Students gave their opinion for and against the Topic. In Aftenoon sessions conducted Team Building Activites to the students and created awareness about Team Spirit, Team Leadership, Team Coordination and Time Management.
Day 3.
Mr. Adarsh, SME, Amazon.India. has addressed the students on “How to face Interview”.He  has conducted the MOCK Interview to the students. 15 students were attended the interview and the remaining students were participated as Audience.
Validictory Program was held on 12-10-2019. Principal Dr. Raghavendra A, Mr. Adarsh, Resource Person, Prof. Sandhya R, Resource Person,   HOD, Prof Shivakumar, Conveners Mrs. Jayalaxmi and Dr. AnandAcharya , SWO Dr. Ramesh, all the Faculty members of Dept of Commerce and Management, Trainees were present.

Conference summary

On 13th of August, Poornaprajna Institute of Management organised Colloquium on P to P lending. Dr .Yashwanth Dongre, the keynote speaker, enlightened the gathering about the emerging financial trends in the Indian economy. He discussed the mechanism of Peer to Peer lending, the pros and cons and the emerging issues that India may face. He stressed upon the democratization of P2P Lending in India. He opined that though P2P lending has shown signs of quickly adapting to market changes and to broadening access to financial intermediation for borrowers and lenders, it is still a nascent industry and has to demonstrate fully its potential for scalability. He discussed the constraints including regulatory hurdles, limited and inconsistent transparency of information, and marketing challenges that could slow down the industry growth.
The talk was followed by an interaction with the audience where various aspects of P2P Lending were discussed.
Dr.Bharat, Dr.Surehramana Mayya, Dr. Krishna Kothai, Dr Raghavendra A, Principal of Poornaprajna College where present.
The presidential remarks were given by Dr.Bharath.

Talk on "Employability Skills"

Department of Commerce and Management organised a Talk on "Employability Skills" for the Final BCom & BBA students and those enrolled for Certificate Course Employability Skills on 5th of August 2019. 
Dr. Sureshramana Mayya, Dean, Faculty of Management, PIM Udupi was the resource person. He said: "Employers are often looking for skills that go beyond qualifications and experience. Your education and experience may make you eligible to apply for a job, but to be successful in most roles, you will need skills that you are likely to develop over time. He advised the students to develop the soft skills and they are what make them employable."
HOD of Commerce and Management Prof Shivakumar. PT, Coordinators of Certificate Course, Mrs Jayalaxmi and Mrs. Preetha Maipady and Faculties of Dept.of Commerce and Management were present. 









INVESTORS EDUCATION PROGRAM

Prof. Ramachandra BK. Lecturer in Commerce, MGM College Udupi, on behalf of Bombay Stock Exchange and LOTUS KNOW WEALTH Mumbai,delivered a lecture on 'Capital Market Awareness, Introduction to Mutual Fund and Financial Reporting'. As a Resource Person he guided the students about investment which give maximum returns. He discussed investment avenues like FD, SB, Money market accounts, investments in Gold, short term debt funds etc. He also advised the students to learn about short term investment plans with high returns to make their money grow and successfully meet their financial requirements.

Dept of Commerce & Management Association Inauguration

Summary: The function was inaugurated by Sri Guruprasad Ballal, Chief Manager, Corporation Bank Udupi. He delivered a Lecture on "Demonetization is a Boon or Bane for the Indian Economy".  He enlightened  Demonetization has improved transmission in the banking system and it has been trying to expand the banking sectors reach. Demonetization hasn't positive effect on short term but if you see in the long run it has a positive image transforming effect on Indian economy. The attempt to wipe out black money and corruption might be rigid, but it was really a well planned motive. 

President of the function, Principal, Dr. Raghavendra A has addressed the students and  advised the students to take active participation in all the avctivities. Vice Principal Dr. Prakash Rao, HOD of Commerce and Management Prof. Shivakumar PT Faculty incharge of Commerce Association Mrs. Jayalaxmi, Faculty incharge of Management Association Mr. Sandeep were present.
